Here's some tips for Guild Wars:
So ya chose a spellcaster type huh? Despite the extra firepower you get, you're very vunerable. Equip skills that heal you, as common sense would say.
Also, once you go over the wall, I suggest you stick to wands, staves, and other spellcaster's weapons. Why? For one thing, you're most likely ranged now; For another it's more likely for you to deal max damage with it.
Same goes for you other types out there: Rangers, stick to bows; Warriors, stick to hand weapons.
Now, you need to know the target system I've devised that could make a difference.
When battling, observe your group from afar. Use your auto-target button (default: TAB) and check out your enemies.
Once you've seen them and their classes, use this target system that shows which you should target first to last:
Monks: They're the groups healers, without them they'd have to rely on themselves, and ressurecting is limited to Signets (if in PvP, monsters don't have Res. Signet)
Mesmers: They can do all kinds of nasty stuff to you. They can cancel your casting, give you many different kinds of health or mana draining sicknesses, and even stop you for a split second.
Necromancers: They can summon undead minions. That doesn't sound like a problem until you've got hordes Bone Fiends and Horrors all over you. They also have several disease and poison type spells.
Elementalists: Powerful. They can deal a lot of damage to you if you're not careful. They've also got their ice spells to slow you down, and their area spells to attack more than one person.
Rangers: Rangers usually have a pet of some kind. Kill the ranger, then the pet because Rangers can res their pets easily. They've also got a wide variety of harmful bow attacks, such as Poison Arrow, which poisons you, Hunter's Shot, which can cause Bleeding damage, and Ignite Arrows, which cause their arrows to explode on contact, affecting you and others around you.
Warriors: Warriors are difficult to kill. They can withstand quite a beating and can deal horrible amounts of damage. Yet they're last because they're usually nothing without any of the others to back them up.
I'll have some more tips later.
